Clash of the Titans (2012)

Composited to final. Integration of CG chimera with tweaks to additive lighting passes to get it sitting just right. 2D smoke elements of dust and smoke to help integration of chimera. Practical fire elements mixed in with cg at end of shot. Extra sparks and "roar" distortion effects added in comp.

Comp to final. Addition of extra CG fx debris and 2D elements to tie shot into sequence of chimera smashing through wall. BG env extension work.

Composited to final. Integration of CG chimera with tweaks to additive lighting passes to get it sitting just right. 2D smoke elements of dust and smoke to help integration of Chimera.

Comped to final. Large 3D setup to tweak individual sections of makhai CG. Integration of Makhai into plate and around character in shot. Hand graded interaction shadows on to character. Live Action water elements for lava sprays and ember elements used to integrate hit onto ground.

Comped to final, Stereo.Bg plate originally retimed and then post converted in comp. Mix between live action plate and CG ENV. Beginning cloud including lots of 2D work. Specifically lightning. Dust hit disturbance set up on a large scale using nuke particles. 2D explosions added to initial cloud hit on Kronos. Kronos and his smoke plume is made up of daily complex CG effects renders with the addition of 2D elements to fill out space.

Comp to final, stereo. Plate post converted in comp for stereo. Tweaks to CG kronos and lots of 2D elements added to Kronos and his plume. Sky replace with separate layers of smoke added to fill in composition gaps. Mountain smash a combination of CG and 2D dust elements that were retimed slower to help preserve scale. Matte painting town and other lava ground interactions added in comp.

Prometheus (2012)

Comped to final, Stereo. Fully CG shot including building and grading of ENV renders. Added ground dust in distance. Clouds generated using a particle setup in comp. Lots of balancing work on the CG prometheus ship.

Thor (2011)

Lead compositor on Bi-frost sequences. In charge of setting look of shots based off multiple additive CG FX renders. Work included integrating digi double into world. Face of digi double replaced with live action Thor.

Comp to final. Last biker on SR completely CG. Integration work of CG into plate. Using 2D elements to help integrate.

Comp to final. Past the tree, the rider is completely CG. Integration work of CG digi double into plate.

Lead compositor on the ‘Buggy’ sequence. Required to composite and integrate cg buggy and smoke into prepped live action elements. Composited CG wires into prepped elements from other artists.

The Knowing (2009)

Required to composite CG passes of aliens into CG environments. Also completed work in the final end of the world sequence where I used Nuke’s 3D system to completely replace a street of houses.

Required to lead a team of artists to tackle a wide variety of compositing challenges including environment matte painting shots, a sequence involving a photoreal CG fruit bat and a bunch of classic prep compositing shots.

Required to take shots from initial prep stages right through to integrating the liveaction elements into a fully CG background including CG and mattepainting elements.

Bankwest Squirrel TVC

Required to composite CG passes of Gary the squirrel and to integrate him into live action elements. Worked closely with CG lead to develop an efficient fur compositing template in comp.

The Spirit (2008)

Required to composite liveaction elements of the Spirit into fully CG backgrounds. A lot of comp was needed to build atmosphere in shots from liveaction smoke elements. A lot of optical lighting effects were also applied in comp.
